Meatball Bubble Biscuits

1 can (12 oz) Pillsbury Golden Layers refrigerated buttermilk or flaky biscuits (i used store brand)
10 frozen cooked italian-style meatballs, thawed, each cut in 1/2 (i made my own)
2 sticks string cheese, cut each into 10 pieces
1 T grated parmesan chees
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp garlic powder (for the parm cheese, ital seas, and garlic i used "great Ceasar" brand garlic spread and seasoning mix from costco)
1 c. marinara sauce - optional

1. Heat oven to 375 deg. F. Separate dough into individual biscuits, and then into 2 layers. flatten slightly.
2. place 1 meatball 1/2, cut side up, in middle, topped by 1 cheese piece then other 1/2 of meatball. wrap dough around ball and cheese, pressing edges to seal. In an ungreased 8 or 9 inch cake pan (i suggest 9 in), place seam side down in single layer.
3. Sprinkle evenly with parmesan cheese, italian seasoning and garlic powder (or garlic spread seasonings as i did)
4. bake 20-25 min until golden brown (here you have to be careful, if you put too many of these puppies in too small of a pan, then the middle ones don't bake right... but then i did 16 of these gusy, not 10... )
5. serve with warmed marinara, if desired (i warmed some up, and also made up our favorite pasta and made it a real meal... this recipe came from a pillsburry magazine and was under appetizers and snacks, but easily a meal in itself as well).
